Jack is a cardiologist with more than 20 years of drug development experience from first-in-human trials to approvals in cardiology, hematology, vascular medicine, and neurology. He has previously served as chief medical officer at Portola Pharmaceuticals and led global development for cardiovascular & metabolism at Janssen. At Bristol Myers Squibb, Jack led the cross-functional development of ELIQUIS® from Phase 1 through global approvals, benefiting millions of patients. Earlier, he was an associate professor at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where his research included cardiac gene therapy. Jack earned his M.D. from the University of Virginia, an S.M. in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an Sc.B. in biomedical engineering from Brown University. He completed his residency at the University of North Carolina and cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
